Service and sisterhood have been the cornerstone of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® since 1908. With the theme Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood, the sorority seeks to build upon Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s rich legacy of service by galvanizing our sisterhood to lead on the frontlines of change, education, and advocacy. The Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack, known as CHIPP™, is the sorority’s most aggressive program to stop childhood hunger by providing weekend and holiday meals for children within local communities. Consider this:

• 23% of families experience hunger

• 22 million children rely on school meals

• Black & Brown children have been disproportionately impacted and are 2 times likely to face hunger

Since November 2022, the Alpha Beta Iota Omega (ABIΩ) chapter has stepped up to address this crisis by providing over 19,000 meals and 9,500 snacks to students at Bell Manor and Stonegate Elementary Schools in Bedford, Texas. These efforts have been crucial in bridging the gap during weekends and holidays when many students face food insecurity.

Nevertheless, our work is far from over. For the 2025-26 school year, we have set a goal to raise $8,750 through cash and in-kind donations to provide 7,000 meals and 3,500 snacks. This will allow us to "feed the babies" for the entire school year. We invite you to join us in this critical mission. Together, we can make sure no child goes hungry.
